All About Ashley Seay-Green

Ashley Seay-Green is a creative Interior Designer and Project Manager with a range of experience that spans from residential design, to corporate facility maintenance, to full scale corporate build outs. She has proven understanding in the development of workplace planning, visual aesthetic branding, operations, and execution.
Through the early cultivation of her creative interests in the International Baccalaureate curriculum, Ashley found a fascination in the interaction between the individual and the space they are in. Coupled with her passion for continued education, innovation, and drive to improve, Ashley focused her career sights on the development and understanding of workplace design and interaction, a notion discovered during her time at Quicken Loans. As an intern and later, a Facility Space Planner, she experienced a workplace design strategy where much of the employee’s comfort and inspiration was considered a priority of the company’s culture as well as the philosophy behind that decision. This experience ignited Ashley’s curiosity and passion for meticulously cultivating spaces that equally serve the culture of the business and its employees in spirits of balance and progress.
Most recently, Ashley has served as Facility Space Planner for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM), growing into this role from the contracted Move Coordinator position in under a year. In the four years since joining the Blue Cross team, Ashley has aided in repositioning over 10,000 employees and managing the corporation’s 3.5+ million square feet in the metro Detroit area. In an effort to challenge the company to improve and embrace the ever changing workforce, Ashley served as design lead in changing BCBSM’s workplace culture into an environment that is less tethered to the traditional cubicle and acts more adaptively for a multifaceted benefit.
The initiative to rethink BCBSM’s corporate space came about with the design and execution of a co-location office for several BCBSM subsidiaries. The challenge was to create an office space that fostered more creativity and innovation out of the traditional health insurance employee - a space that dared the team to think outside of the box and reassured clients of their capability to do the same with their product. Today, the project stands at 88,000 square feet and is the fastest and most cost-effective build-out the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Planning, Design, and Project Management team has ever done. More than that, it has been received as functional, comfortable, and inspiring to the teams of employees that work there.
Ashley’s current design curiosity and experience stretches beyond corporate offices. Through her passion for art she has developed a network of cross-industry creatives in the metro Detroit area. Together, they plan the launch of a 501c6 non-profit that fosters the continued, yet pressure free, education of working design professionals called True to Form International. Although currently only in its early stages of development, the beta group has already been afforded many opportunities in the favor of design knowledge, exposure, and understanding. With a strong academic and experiential education base,  Ashley’s affinity for idea synthesis, rapid learning, and adaptability propels her to continuously seek innovation through teamwork and creative development.
